About the role

We're seeking a talented Frontend Developer to join our Game Operations team at Quickspin. In this role, you'll be responsible for creating solutions that allow us to enter new markets with our existing portfolio of games. Additionally, you'll be maintaining our existing portfolio in our current markets, using runtime-loaded adapter/bridge components and regulation modules that are coupled to our TypeScript-based game framework. From initial concept to post-production and maintenance, you'll take an end-to-end approach to every task.

Collaboration is key in this role, and you'll work closely with both the Platform team and Game Studio to solve a variety of challenges. Our team is small but diverse, with members located in Stockholm and Kyiv. Strong communication skills and proficiency in English are essential for cross-collaboration. Currently, we use the Atlassian suite (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket) and have additional development infrastructure and tools hosted in AWS. Our multi-repository approach uses Maven and NPM as package managers.

For game development, we use an in-house-built HTML5 game framework (based on TypeScript, CSS3, SASS, Gulp, and Express) that heavily relies on the PIXI rendering engine. For dev tools and web services, we typically use Node.js, ECMAScript EC6, Docker, Express, React, Webpack, NPM, and Gulp. Jenkins and scripted pipelines are used for CI/CD, and we strive to be tech-agnostic by providing a development environment that runs on OSX, Windows, and Linux.

Qualifications and experience

• A degree in computer science or a related field
• 3-5 years of professional experience in software development, either as an employee or contractor
• Proficiency in modern web technologies and techniques, including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES5/ES6)
• Familiarity with supersets and languages transpiled to JavaScript, such as TypeScript and Babel
• Experience with Node.js and the NPM package ecosystem
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) and software design patterns
• Knowledge of CSS3 and CSS preprocessors like SASS or Less
• Familiarity with best practices for version control, artifact versioning, and branching models
• Knowledge of build systems and development tools like Maven, NPM, Gulp, and Grunt
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
